How to Pay
Private Pay Home Care
Simple, flexible, no-contract home care for families paying out of pocket. A few hours a week, overnight coverage, or 24/7 — you decide, and you can adjust any time.
When Private Pay Makes Sense
Many families choose private pay even when they might qualify for other programs. The reasons vary:
- Speed — you can have care starting within a week, not after a 4–8 week Medicaid enrollment
- Flexibility — you can change hours, services, or stop altogether whenever you want
- Income or assets above Medicaid limits — you don't qualify for IRIS or Family Care
- Short-term needs — post-surgery recovery, a few weeks of respite, help during a transition
- You're using a Medicaid-funded program for some hours but want to add more
- Long-term care insurance — often paired with private pay (we can bill your LTC carrier directly)
Our Pricing Philosophy
We keep private pay simple:
- Clear hourly pricing — no setup fees, no monthly minimums, no hidden charges
- No long-term contracts — you can scale up, scale down, or stop with reasonable notice
- Consistent pricing across services — personal care, companionship, and respite are priced together
- Overnight and 24/7 care — available for clients who need more continuous coverage
Because every family's situation is different — number of hours, complexity of care, overnight vs. daytime — we give an individualized quote after a free consultation. Call us or request a consultation and we'll walk through pricing based on what you actually need.

How Many Hours Do People Start With?
There's no right answer — it depends entirely on the situation. As a rough guide:
- 4–12 hours/week — early support, companionship, a few hours to give family a break
- 12–24 hours/week — regular personal care plus companionship a few times a day
- 24–40 hours/week — daytime coverage while family works or travels
- Overnight-only — family provides days, we cover nights
- 24/7 care — continuous coverage, either for a short-term recovery or long-term end-stage care
How It Works
- Free consultation — we come to the home (or talk by phone if that's easier) and learn about the situation.
- Custom care plan — written out so everyone's on the same page.
- Start simple — most families begin with fewer hours and scale up as they see what's helpful.
- Weekly billing or monthly, your choice — we keep invoicing clean and transparent.
Planning Ahead: Could You Qualify for a Medicaid Program Later?
If you're paying privately now but expect that at some point your loved one's assets will spend down to Medicaid eligibility levels, it's worth understanding the path in advance. IRIS and Family Care both require functional and financial eligibility that takes time to document. Your local ADRC can walk you through options. We're happy to help you think this through in a consultation.
