Transportation & Escort Services
Safe rides with someone who stays with your loved one the whole time — not just drops them at the curb. Medical appointments, errands, and the activities that keep life full.
More Than Just a Ride
A lot of transportation services will get your loved one from point A to point B. Ours do that — but we also stay with them through the appointment, help them remember what the doctor said, carry bags, and make sure they get back home safely settled in.
For a client with mobility issues, dementia, or anxiety about being alone in unfamiliar places, that difference is everything. It means fewer missed appointments, fewer falls, and fewer panicked phone calls to adult children.
Where We Go
- Medical appointments — doctor's visits, specialists, dental, optometry, physical therapy
- Pharmacy — prescription pickup, over-the-counter supplies
- Grocery shopping — with the client helping pick things out, or we can go alone if needed
- Other errands — bank, post office, hardware store
- Social activities — senior centers, religious services, friends' homes, community events
- Family visits — so staying connected doesn't depend on someone else's schedule
- Beauty and personal care — salon, barber, nail appointments
Note on wheelchair-accessible transport: our caregivers use their own vehicles for most rides. If your loved one uses a power wheelchair or can't transfer to a car seat, let us know — we can help coordinate with specialized transport services where needed.
How It Works
Escort vs. drop-off
For most of our clients, transportation is combined with in-home care hours — the caregiver arrives at the home, drives your loved one to the appointment, stays through it, and brings them home again. Some clients use standalone "escort" hours for appointments alone.
Scheduled and on-call
You can schedule regular transportation weeks in advance (standing weekly grocery run, monthly doctor's visit) or call us when something comes up. We'll do our best to accommodate.
All caregivers vetted
Every CVHC caregiver driving a client has a clean driving record, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance — verified at hiring and re-checked regularly.
